Visitors also have the opportunity to view the latest models of automakers in the country at the exhibition on 15,000 square meters at the Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Centre (VEFAC) at 248 Giang Vo Street in Hanoi City�s Ba Dinh District.
The four-day annual show is being attended by 11 members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers� Association including Toyota Motor Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, Ford Vietnam, Honda Vietnam, GM-Daewoo, and Vinastar. They introduce green auto making technologies, according to VAMA.
Toyota Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. (TMV) is displaying two imported completed-built-unit (CBU) vehicles: Yaris TRD (Toyota Racing Development) and Camry Hybrid together with its latest models of Fortuner TRD, Innova G luxury and Corolla Altis 2010.
Targeting young customers, Yaris with small engine of 1.5 liters is said to have outstanding fuel efficiency and environment protection meeting the Euro 3 standard. The displayed model is a hatchback Yaris with a lot of changes in widening the cabin space while keeping the car a compact one.
Camry Hybrid is a combination of the Atkinson-cycle 2AZ-FXE gasoline engine and the electric motor system, producing a max output of 140kW at 6,500rpm. The car is said to be more fuel economical than conventional models by 35%.
Ford Vietnam is also showing its�new product Fiesta. The car will be assembled at the local market next year.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) unveils new top-of-the-line models, including the new R-Class car and especially the new C300 AMG, which is one of the biggest highlights.
Retaining the healthy V6, 3.0L engine which generates 231 horsepower at 6000rpm, C300 AMG transmits its up-to-300Nm torque to the wheels through a seven-speed 7G-Tronic that features three drive programs (E) economy, (S) sport, and M (manual).
The 6th annual Vietnam Motor Show, organized by VAMA in coordination with Asia Trade Fair and Business Promotion (ATFA), is also being attended by more than 100 local and foreign suppliers of spare parts, supporting products, and providers of interior furnishings, sound systems, and banking and insurance services.
